Trust Payments enters Denmark through partnership with Freepay

Trust Payments, a fintech leader driving truly innovative customer commerce solutions, has agreed a new deal to provide acquiring services to Danish payments gateway firm Freepay, part of the Freeway group.

Since March 2021, the Freeway group, which is behind major Danish web successes such as Dating.dk, Plusbog.dk and Lejebolig.dk, has made it easier to run internet businesses in Denmark by offering Freepay as a free payments gateway.

With the new agreement, payments will be processed through the Trust Payments acquiring offering and merchants will also be able to use Trust Payments’ POS (point of sale) terminals, with Freepay as the redeemer. These on-demand payments and commerce services will help Danish businesses grow and scale online, in-store and on mobile.

Freepay has been operating since 1998 and is used by some of Denmark’s biggest online brands. It is a 100% Danish-owned company with its own development department.
