How Trust Payments supports SME businesses: interview with Matt Jackson

Matt Jackson has recently been appointed as Trust Payments’ Head of SME, our offering focused on how to support small and medium businesses with payment and customer experience solutions.

What is the purpose of your new role?

I’ll be working with our Small and Medium Businesses community to understand what their requirements are, and ultimately manage and support the rollout of any new products and propositions for these clients. Day-to-day I am also managing our Northern Hub in Harrogate which consists of our Telesales, Portfolio Account Management, and Sales Support teams.

What can our SME clients expect to benefit from?

I’ll be bringing more structure to a holistic SME offering, ensuring our existing and new customers fully understand all the options available to help accelerate their business. I’ll also be working with my team to optimise the full customer experience to make it cleaner, quicker, and better.

What is the SME offering from Trust Payments?

We have a range of services targeted toward SMEs, which we define as businesses with a turnover of less than £1m. We appreciate that small business owners want to enhance their business with the latest payment and customer loyalty technologies, but don’t have time for complexity. That’s why we offer easy-to-use services, account management and 24/7 technical support. We’ve got smaller businesses such as hairdressers, shops, and cafes covered with a full range of payment and customer loyalty solutions.

You have been with Trust Payments for a year now. What is life like at the company?

The Trust Payments team has honestly given me the warmest welcome into the business. Everyone took the time to speak to me individually, listen to my ideas, support me and my team. The executive team is very open to new ideas and believes in making quick decisions, which translates into adapting fast to offer our customers and partners the best possible services. I can honestly say that for me this really is the best company to work for, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time over the past year and look forward to seeing the company grow and in turn growing with it.

Security is our top priority at Trust Payments and we strive to ensure that all data is kept secure at all times We keep all customer data safe with AES256 encryption, SSL Certificates, and a minimum of TLS1.2, between your website and our datacentres.

Our systems are scanned quarterly using the Qualys PCI Platform, an independent Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) and approved vendors – Omnicybersecurity (UK) & Forgenix (US) – to ensure compliance with the security requirements of the card schemes.

We follow a number of rigorous security procedures on a daily basis including, but not limited to, continuous monitoring of our perimeter, dark web monitoring, and internal checks to ensure that CIA triad is maintained at all times.
