Job Title:  Group Financial Controller

Main purpose of the job:
 
The Group Financial Controller will work within the finance function of Trust Payments, reporting to the Group Financial Director and managing a global finance reporting team across UK and Malta to ensure all aspects of financial reporting and analysis for the executive team and board are met on time. They will ensure good control and governance of financial procedures in a highly dynamic and fast growing fintech business, some of these activities being regulated by the FCA, MFSA other regulators.
 
Duties and responsibilities:
 
•   Ensuring good controls, systems, and processes in place to support a fast growing fintech business
•   Improve month end close, systems, processes, controls and automation delivering efficiency and faster month end close
•   Production of reporting with full financial analysis
•   Review and management of operating cash flow forecasts and control of cash movement and cash balances with Treasury
•   Ensure all group subsidiary companies are correctly accounting for revenue and costs,
•   Timely production of monthly management accounts ensuring all balance sheet accounts have been reconciled
•   Monthly review and analysis of group capitalisation with the tech team
•   Production of timely and accurate financial reporting (including statutory)
•   Review sales commissions with the Sales and Data teams
•   Oversight of all Revenue Recognition functions to ensure all aspects of revenue across the group are captured and accounted for
•   Oversight of all Accounts Payable
•   Responsibility for group consolidation
•   Managing the annual and interim external financial audits ensuring timely delivery of statutory accounts
•   Regular reviews of impairment across the group for assets and investments
•   Preparing consolidated accounts and reporting for presentation to the senior stakeholders
•   Management of all statutory reporting including VAT and Tax across all group entities
•   Managing the group intercompany matrix with monthly reviews and reconcilaitons
•   Ability to lead the day-to-day operations of the finance function
•   Managing a global finance team providing mentorship and assistance to the team in their tasks
 
Experience and Qualifications:
 
•   Experience working in a financial accounting function
•   Proven track record in FCA regulated business
•   Experience in a similar type business (Payments).
•   Fully qualified accountant
•   Experienced in a matrix structure
•   Experienced working in a multi business group
•   Experience of NetSuite
•   Strong reporting and interpersonal skills
•   An excellent communicator who is self-motivated, empathetic and a team player who can work in a fast-paced environment
•   Ability to operate at senior level with a proven track record of strategic thinking and a ‘can-do’ attitude to driving business growth
•   Similarly, payments or banking experience would be well received
•   Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•   High levels of personal and professional accountability and integrity
