Trust Payments, the leader in fintech powering truly innovative customer commerce solutions, has today agreed to strengthen its ties with grassroots spots in Malta by renewing its shirt sponsorship deal with Zurrieq Football Club, competitors in the BOV Challenge League and Floriana Young Stars Hockey Club, a leading National League team.
Zurrieq were newly promoted to the Challenge League last season when Trust Payments originally agreed to sponsor the team’s kits. The team made it to the Top Six Promotion Pool at the first attempt and eventually finished sixth in the table at the end of the 2022-23 season.
Following the notable success, Trust Payments is delighted to extend its sponsorship once again for the 2023-24 season and will update the team’s shirts with its new logo for the men’s squad. Branding will also be prominent across the club’s training ground and clubhouse and the sponsorship will include player of the month awards presented on social media.
Established in 1973, Floriana Young Stars is one of the most successful teams in Maltese hockey history, winning ten league titles and 27 cup competitions, including the European Challenge IV competition in 2017. Floriana Young Stars won the 2023 Knock Out Cup tournament and will compete in an international tournament next year against teams from Gibraltar, Lithuania, Hungary, Luxembourg, Sweden and Slovenia.

The new sponsorship deals were signed and announced at the Trust Payments Autumn Showcase event, held in the luxurious Xara Lodge in Rabat on 25 October – a day which also marked 4 years of Trust Payments being present in Malta.
